We are Symbols of Faith, an inspirational line of Catholic faith-oriented jewelry created by the 1928 Jewelry Company. Our parent company was founded in 1968 by Mel Bernie and his cousin Richard Wallen in California. What began as two young men in their early twenties with no money and no jewelry-making experience became one of the most recognized fashion jewelry brands in the world. Our founder discovered his talent for choosing ladies' accessories while looking for ways to make needed cash after military service.
The 1928 Jewelry Company grew into a multi-million dollar enterprise known for making vintage-look jewelry based on actual antique pieces. We were the first jewelry business to sell our brand by doing in-store promotions. Our company signed an exclusive licensing agreement with the Vatican Library in Rome, giving us the right to recreate artifacts found in the unrivaled Vatican collections.
